I’m coming back to tumblr with a link to what Maker’s Mark suggests you taste, see, and smell when you drink bourbon.

Music Blog
It’s been so long since I did anything with this blog that I forgot I even had it. It would have been a really good idea to keep up on the deployment idea I orignally had, but we were too busy having a good time in Europe.
So, from now on I’m going to use this blog as a place to post stuff dealing with the musical side of my life. I’m working on a recording right now and...

Split, Croatia
I didn’t know what to expect from Croatia and ended up being very impressed with the look of the city of Split. It’s based around a castle/fortress that is 1,700 years old. Sometime in the city’s history the public has engulfed the castle and now all the old building are full of shops, hotels, and restaurants. Unlike a lot of the ruins we run into while traveling it was very...
Sicilia
The first time I got off the boat this time around was in the familiar settings of Sicily. There were really no surprises, the food is amazing, the volcano is breathtaking, everything is expensive, and the people are annoyed by Americans who don’t speak Italian.
Also unsurprisingly, we had a blast. It was a good warm up to the things coming next. More pics to follow.
Penguins win + much elation = first bad day of...
By some undeserved stoke of luck, the hockey gods allowed the TV system on the boat to work last night (or this morning for us) for the Penguins - Red Wings playoff game. It was undeniably one of the greatest hockey games I’ve personally watched and when the goal lamp lit midway through the third overtime it was around 5 A.M. here. I went to sleep and didn’t wake up for...

Time to move on...
It seems like I finally got my apartment the way I like it after a year and half here and now it is time to move out. What a pain in the ass. I haven’t underestimated something this badly in a while. The race is on for a Sunday night drive to PA, never to return to my cave here in Apt 1806. I have a lot of memories built here in a short amount of time and most of them are good.
Welcome to the newest Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers had tremendous luck today with star Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall and the gigantic receiver from Texas, Limas Sweed, staying around in the draft much longer than they could have. Big Ben must be elated that his request for a tall receiver was granted. It’s a great example by the Pittsburgh staff of taking the best talent available during a draft instead of reaching...
Where's Critter??
The Old Crow show was incredible as always. They have a new album coming out this summer and Ketch mentioned a few times that we were the first crowd to hear a lot of the new songs. There’s one about the devastating effects of Methamphetamines that particularly stuck out when I was thinking back. Once the guys came out I was shocked to see that the prolific Critter Fuqua was not on stage. ...
Grunge Re-scene
I’ve been on a huge Grunge kick lately. I was really into the grunge movement when it was happening but because of my age at the time the point of reference wasn’t as developed as it is now. That has made this re-visitation the to the music the played from tiny radio speakers as I washed dishes at Hill’s Restaurant almost shocking. I have heard most of the popular songs from...
The Reeder Mod
I had my Lonestar modded by a friend today and it is incredible. The drive channel now has a lush articulate distortion that is replacing an unimpressive midrange heavy distortion that wasn’t bad but not great. The new sound is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
